All other spa shells are manufactured from either fiberglass backed acrylic, or thermal plastic such as A.B.S., Centrex or Endural. The problem with the first type of shell as we know from over twenty years of experience in the market is blistering. This has nothing to do with spa shells in particular. It is a common problem with all fiberglass products that operate in or on water such as boats. Blistering is a process whereby saline (salts) travels through the acrylic or in the case of boats, the gelcoat layer. As they move through this outer layer, they pull a small amount of water. Once this happens, the water and salts break down the surface and the fiberglass and cause delimitation, which is simply the separation of the surface and the fiberglass layers. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Subsequently, newer types of spa shells use newly developed thermal plastics such as, A.B.S., Centrex or Endural. Although these shells have virtually eliminated blistering and delimitation, they are not as rigid as fiberglass shells. Therefore, Canspa combines all three components to create a shell of unparalleled durability. Using an advanced manufacturing process, we vacuum form our shells from the best materials currently available on the market and stand behind our product with a full warranty on both the shell and the surface. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The digital control system is standard on all of our spas. Make sure that you are being upgraded to this option in the price that you are quoted. Most spas use top of the line Waterways ball bearing jets. Many companies add an after market stainless steel cover that is glued on over the jet to make it look like a steel jet. Although this looks good empty and new, it in no way improves the spa and provides you with a part-time job re-glueing the chrome heads on in a couple of years. Besides, we believe that you have enough chrome to polish in your home. All but the cheapest of spas use manifold pressure system. We use two 4.5 hp pumps for a total of 9 hp. For massage, the horsepower is imperative. It is nice to look at a bunch of shiny jets, but if they do not have enough pressure, they are useless. We use a 1.5 hp Element heated air blower that can either be bubbled up through the seats or diverted to supercharge the massage jets mixing 9 hp of hot water with 1.5 hp of hot air for a total jet pressure of 10.5 hp. Most spas use a 1.5 hp cold air blower, which cannot be diverted into the water jets. We fill the entire cavity with foam and insulation. We seal the base of our spas with 1/2" PRESSURE TREATED PLYWOOD. Most spas don't seal the base of their tubs. This means every rodent in the area has just found a nice warm home with lots of good things to chew on, and no warranty covers rodent damage. Our spas use a support sub structure and non-load bearing cedar cabinets. As for size, our spas are the deepest on the market. |
